Hampton Roads Cake Smash Photographer – Ellie Turns One

Hampton Roads cake smash photographer, Amanda Stewart, is pleased to present Ellie’s first birthday session.

It seems like just yesterday this little swimmer was in the studio for her newborn photography session. She made the most adorable little mermaid in a special outfit her parents brought to the studio.

When mom contacted me for Ellie’s cake smash session, it seemed only natural a mermaid theme was in order.

Ellie’s family requested teal and purple as our color pallet, and I went to work creating them a one of a kind design for her big day.

I was so excited that Mom, Dad, and baby Ellie loved it as much as I did.

For this mermaid set, I hand painted the scales with a shimmering teal paint on a slightly lighter backdrop. If you can’t tell by my galleries, I love a monochromatic theme. I also added some spiral hanging ribbon and floral elements to emulate seaweed and coral. It matched the cake beautifully. 

Ellie’s outfit’s pops of purple completed the backdrop perfectly. I think we gave both her and mom just the set they were looking for. Ellie loved her cake and was a perfect baby model, just like at her newborn session. Happy Birthday Ellie!
