Hi I'm Amanda. I am a Hampton Roads Virginia photographer specializing in wedding, engagement, senior, family, and portrait photography. I have had a digital camera in my hand since they took floppy disk, yes floppy disk. I began photographing all things baby and parenthood since early 2011 and opened up my business in 2012. While I focused on newborn photography I started my wedding journey mentoring with my own Atlanta wedding photographers https://pixelthisphotography.net/ in 2012.  I moved to the city of Suffolk and opened my newborn studio doors here in Hampton Roads in summer 2015. After 10 years and hundreds of babies I always found my most joy came from the occasional wedding I would photograph. I thrive off being extremely busy and love the wedding day hustle and bustle. In 2021 I decided to shut down my newborn studio doors and go after what I always planned on from the beginning of my photography journey, wedding, senior, and family photography. I offer multiple affordable session options to try and fit various needs and budget while dedicated to still providing a professional service, high quality images, and heirloom products.

My primary goal is to make each session fun and creative, capturing images that reflect each client’s special moment –whether that be your growing love, the excitement of finishing school and entering your young adult years, or special moments with your family.  Photo sessions take place on location, with both available natural and artificial light to make sure no moment is missed.  My goal is to provide each client with a memorable experience and images to be cherished for a lifetime.

When I'm not behind the camera, you can find me on one outdoor adventure or another. There's nothing quite like cranking the radio on a good road trip.  I love watching movies, listening to audio books while I edit, and NY style pizza.  Whenever we get the chance, my family and I love to travel.  Fun fact:  Before I started in photography, I coached competitive gymnastics!

Please, browse through the galleries to get a feel for my style and work.  I would love to chat with you about a session.  Choose the contact link above to send me a message.  Thank you!

Hello! I’m Erica!

I grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania, but about 12 years ago I tired of the snow and moved to Hampton Roads.

I bought my first DSLR, a used Nikon D50, my sophomore year of college. Armed with that and the booked Understanding Exposure, I was determined to become a “good photographer”.

Nine years ago my life was forever changed when my oldest daughter was born. I became a stay at home mom and had finally had the time to practice my photography skills and a subject who was little young to protest the photos I took. For nearly a decade my camera has been a permanent fixture around my neck. It has come with me on every outing, every trip, and every vacation. Finding pretty light to photograph my three girls in developed into a photography style that is a unique blend of photojournalism and portraiture.

Inspired by the raw beauty all around us, I capture those fleeting, authentic moments that you’ll want to remember on your special day.

Beyond the lens, I love escape rooms (so much that I work as a Gamemaster part time), playing violin and piano, and hand embroidery. On top of my part time job, photography and hobbies I also am on my third season coaching youth soccer. Life is always crazy around here, and I love photographing as many of those moments as I can.
