The Workshop:
Amanda Stewart Newborn Photography Mentoring Virginia Workshops are hands-on mentoring sessions for photographers ready to
explore the specialized craft of newborn photography. Working side-by-side with seasoned professional
photographer, Amanda Stewart, attendees will actively participate in sessions with real models. This
personal approach allows you to focus on expanding your technical skills while unlocking creativity. In
addition, working alongside other photographers is a great way to experience a difference in
perspective- something not so easy to accomplish in the often-isolated world of professional
photography. The point of these sessions is to learn through collaboration, finding and using your own
style along with instruction and advice from Amanda Stewart, to develop your craft.
At an Amanda Stewart Photography Workshop, you will cover the fundamentals of photography
including session preparation, careful posing, proper safety, the importance of lighting (natural and
studio), and photo editing. During the workshop, Amanda will discuss the process of starting or
improving your own profitable photography business.
The Details:
Group Mentoring (4-8 attendees)
Fee: 500 per person- 4 person minimum
Session includes-
1-2 newborn models
Newborn safety techniques
Newborn posing
Natural and; studio lighting
Newborn image editing through Photoshop CC,
Business basics
Individual Mentoring (1:1 or 2:1)
Fee: 1500 for one-on-one or 1000 per person with two attendees
Session includes-
2 days of mentoring
2-3 newborn model sessions
Hands-on posing
Practice with your camera
Natural and studio lighting
Maternity model session
Requirements:
When and where:
Mentoring Workshops are scheduled as requested both locally and out of town. Traveling workshops require a minimum of 6 attendees. Because only a limited number are offered each
season, please contact Amanda Stewart as soon as possible to secure your spot. Available session dates
fill up quickly!
Amanda Stewart Photography studio is located in Suffolk, Virginia. For out-of-town attendees,
please contact Amanda for advice regarding nearby accommodations (there are plenty of great places to
stay, eat, and explore- you may want to stay an extra day or two). The closest airport is Norfolk
International (ORF) and our studio is located right next door to the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Suffolk.
Local Hampton Roads photographers are welcome to attend. Please inform Amanda at the time of
scheduling if you practice in Hampton Roads or surrounding area.
Continued Education:
Photography Workshop Attendees will have access to a private online forum, through which they may
ask questions and engage in discussion with Amanda and other group members. Through the exclusive
forum, attendees will find advice about photography, editing, business solutions, and even submit
photos for feedback.
