If you are looking for family-friendly Halloween and fall fun in the Hampton Roads area, you have come to the right place. There are an incredible number of Halloween Events happening in Hampton Roads this month. The following all have one thing in common- real live creatures!!

Halloween at the Virginia Aquarium (Virginia Beach)

October 26, 2018 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Bay & Ocean Pavilion
Cost: $9.95 for members, $15.95 for non-members

Bring a trick or treat bag and come dressed in your Halloween best for an evening of games, prizes, and spooky entertainment. For a more intense thrill, check out the fights and ghastly sights on the trail! A paying adult must accompany children. Children 2 and under are free. Registration required. Tickets go on sale September 14.

Zoo Boo at the Virginia Zoo (Norfolk)

Address: The Virginia Zoo 3500 Granby St, Norfolk, VA
Date: Saturday & Sunday, October 27-28, 2018 from 10am-5pm. Rain or shine.
Cost: $6 for members, $15 for non-members, under 2 FREE
Activity: Our biggest event of the year is now TWO DAYS! ZooBoo offers families a safe environment to trick-or-treat and enjoy fall fun. Be sure to check out the animal pumpkin encounters, costume contests, crafts, ZooLive! Stage presentations and more! The ZooBoo Choo Choo, Bounce Houses, food and beverage will be available for an additional cost.

Night of the Living Museum (Newport News)

Address: Virginia Living Museum, 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601
Date: Friday & Saturday, October 19 & 20, 2018 from 5:30-8:30pm (The Museum will close at 4 p.m. on October 19 and 20 to prepare for the evening event.)
Cost: Pre-sale tickets are $10 per member, $15 per non-member. Day of $18 per member; $23 non-members. Planetarium tickets will be sold at the lobby front desk during the event. Children ages 2 and under are free. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Activity: Get your costume ready and come dressed as your favorite character or wild animal. Trick-or-treat throughout the Museum as you walk through themed galleries filled with characters and decorations! Make creepy crafts and play Halloween games. Enjoy live animal shows featuring fierce and not-so-fierce Halloween critters. See some of your favorite super heroes and step into a world of “Forest Friends” and “Monster Lab” in transformed indoor exhibits. Learn the ways of spiders large and small as well as other creepy crawlies in the lab. Visit the tooth fairy and other princess favorites. Venture into the cave to seek out pirates and their treats for young trick-or-treaters. Plus, take a nighttime hike along the outdoor boardwalk and see the Dinosaur Discovery Trail by night! Explore fun science with “Not the Mythbusters” and be sure to look for the large inflatable characters for that perfect photo op!
